Thanks all the elected and public officials for their support during the shooting incident.
Thanks Chief McCarthy and the EMS people who stayed longer than they had to. He thanks the various law enforcement (mentions them by name) who came to support the investigation.
McQuaid: Thanks Moccia for the way he conducted himself. And that Moccia let people know that the city was safe.
Council Presidents Remarks
Bondi: Reads the clarification of the role of the public power authority. It was set up and it was unanimously approved to provide acquire and control power generation, linking with other municipal power companies etc. It never was supposed to do anything else but look into doing an RFP for the physical capabilities of the idea.
Krummel: Says that its the public power authority committee, there is no authority.
Hempstead: Asks if they have a power authority sub committee.
Bondi: It will stay as it is right now and then we will make it be whatever the council decides.
Moccia: Says they can’t have another meeting until the caucuses to set it up.
Bondi: Would like to thank all the fire and police and all the other towns that supported Norwalk. Mentions details about the wake at St. Mathews Church Thursday 9:30am.
Everything is on consent except the Columbian Festival application. They vote unanimously on the consent calendar.
McQuaid: We’ve had a lengthy committee discussion. We wanted more information on the organization that is sponsoring the festival.
Moccia: We asked corp counsel to look into this.
Maslan: We looked into this, and could not find a listing on the secretary of states website. There was no listed corporation or LLCS as an applicant. IN short we don’t know what kind of entity this is.
McQauid: I ask that we table this item until they get together with the parks director.
They make the motion to table and then vote unanimously on it.
