Today’s news is filled with stuff to comment on, but I have some other obligations that take precedence, so enjoy the open thread to pick apart the day’s news and I’ll chime in later.

My first comment is on the story of the day is the “Teachers Federation files lawsuit against BOE”

I can only say that FINALLY someone has had it up to their eyeballs with Corda and the BOE. It appears that the BOE is finally being dragged out into the light kicking and screaming. I think that the underestimated the anger that was boiling beneath the surface of the Federation, and will also come to find that the voters in this town are also watching them with a jaundiced eye. “The plot thickens.”

OK, my second rant will be about the Maritime Aquarium’s master plan for a multimillion dollar expansion.

Let me say right now that that multimillion dollar expansion had better include “BUS PARKING” on someplace other that Veterans Park. That turkey will no longer fly. Residents did not fight to keep commercial development out of Veterans park just to see it turned into a commercial interstate bus parking lot for the Aquarium. Norwalk had better come up with other parking plans, as the “status quo” is not going to work. You can take that to the bank…….

  3. Thanks, NFT says:

Here is my thank you to Bruce Mellion and his leadership team for filing suit against the Norwalk BOE for its lack of respect for Norwalk’s taxpayers in extending Corda’s contract without so much as a discussion of it. I’m sure that the BOE’s attorneys are already planning a way to squash the lawsuit, but the publicity alone may be enough to raise the consciousness of those who haven’t been paying attention to the shenanigans of this BOE and its central administration.

It is time to vote in BOE members who respect the taxpayers who fund the schools.

Mr. Mellion, some weeks ago there was a posting about having the NFT take a vote of no confidence. That might be even more damaging to this administration, which wore out its welcome a long time ago.

    To Bruce Mellion:

Bruce… thank you, thank you, thank you. It feels so good to speak out… finally… after all this time. We’ve been saying this for so long behind closed doors, I was beginning to think NFT was just another empty TLA (three letter acronym). You’ve totally restored my faith in the process!

  5. Anne Sullivan says:

    Thank you, Bruce!

  6. Aunt Bertha says:

I agree with you all! I haven’t had this warm fuzzy feeling in such a long time. Bruce, you are the MAN!

  7. longtimer says:

    Go Bruce Go.

  8. Charles the Hammer says:

Now that these unscrupulous and undemocratic practices will come under scrutiny in sworn depositions, the hijinks of Corda and his BOE accomplices will be known to all. That should translate into some justice at the polls and beyond.

Bravo Bruce Mellion! As a great baseball fan, I know you’ll appreciate the fact that we respect you as our “Ace”, our real “closer”. It’s time for little “chin music”.

  9. Eskimosik says:

    Hail

What do you think about this? When it happens?
